Reducing hunger, protecting tomorrow: discover our reduced carbon footprint range
A major nutritional innovation that reduces carbon impact by up to 35%, with no compromise on quality or therapeutic effectiveness.
An ambitious commitment
This approach is based on three commitments and is part of Nutriset’s climate roadmap, aiming to contribute to carbon neutrality by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement.

We are committed to driving the transformation of the therapeutic nutrition industry through innovative solutions that meet today’s climate challenges.

We offer practical, ready-to-use solutions to help you meet your greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction commitments.

Incorporating our reduced carbon footprint range into your nutrition programmes can reduce their carbon footprint by up to 35%, with no changes to existing operational processes.
Our convictions
- Reducing carbon footprint must be part of a comprehensive and responsible approach, fully aligned with Nutriset’s values and humanitarian mission.
- This initiative should also contribute to strengthening capacity-building across the humanitarian sector by promoting the sharing of insights generated through carbon footprint assessments and encouraging the dissemination of best practices among partners and stakeholders throughout the value chain.
- Such collective action is essential to turn findings into operational levers for change and to effectively address the major environmental challenges we face today.
Two complementary approaches to carbon footprint reduction have been developed: the Reduced Carbon Footprint – Peanut Formula (RCF-PF) variant, based on the integration of ingredients sourced from lower-carbon-impact supply chains, and the Reduced Carbon Footprint – Soy-Peanut Formula (RCF-SPF) variant, which combines this approach with a reformulation strategy to further increase the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

*GHG emissions compared with the reference products, calculated for the year 2024.
The impact is measured for one carton of finished products manufactured at our Malaunay site in France.
One carton of Plumpy’Nut® weighs 13.8 kg, Plumpy’Sup™ and Plumpy’Doz™ weigh 15 kg, and Enov’ Nutributter®+ (ENB+) weighs 12 kg.
The scope is cradle-to-gate, including sourcing, manufacturing, and transport of the finished products to the first storage site. Storage, shipment to the final place of consumption, and end-of-life packaging are excluded.
These claims are valid from the date of issuance of the validation/verification statement for a period of 2 years.
This reduction was assessed based on a Product Carbon Footprint compliant with the international standards ISO 14067:2018 and the GHG Protocol Product Standard:2011, including an uncertainty analysis. “Food and Beverage PCRs”, a molecular biology technique based on the polymerase chain reaction and applied to food and beverage quality and safety control, were also used as a sector-specific reference.
All methodological information is available in the public version of the study report via this link.
** With a 7% reduction in its carbon footprint, the Reduced Carbon Footprint ENB+ version – Peanut Formula marks the first milestone in our eco-design approach. Given the methodological uncertainties inherent at this stage, this encouraging result confirms the identified areas for improvement, particularly in ingredient sourcing. It lays the foundation for our future developments aimed at achieving even higher levels of carbon performance.
We act where it matters most
A rigorous scientific approach,
verified in accordance with internationally recognized standards
To ensure the reliability of our results, we have established a rigorous and transparent assessment framework:

ISO 14067 et GHG Product standard
Study conducted in accordance with ISO 14067 : 2018 and the GHG Protocol Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard (2011).

Validated by AFNOR Certification
Independent verification to ensure the transparency and full reliability of our claims.

Scope of the Assessment
from raw material extraction through manufacturing and delivery of finished products to the first storage facility (cradle-to-gate)

2024
GHG emissions reductions are calculated against reference products based on 2024 data.
The Reduced Carbon Footprint Range also incorporates renewable electricity for production, covering 100% of our electricity consumption through a certified volume of renewable energy backed by Guarantees of Origin, as well as the use of HVO100 biofuel for transporting finished products to the first storage facility.
